Rich and Ryan got into a little bit of a deep discussion yesterday about the different roles people take on depending on what group of friends they’re with.

For example, with The Morning Mash Up, Ryan is kind of the quiet one. But Rich has seen him with his friends from back home and Ryan is the crazy, loud, life of the party one. Compared to some of his college friends, he’s also the dummy of the group (which we know is the opposite of how it is on The Mash Up ).

Nicole says she’s the same person no matter which group of friends she’s with. Rich & Stan are the same way. They’re pretty much the same version of themselves in every group.

What about you? Do have different roles in different groups of friends or are you pretty much the same version of yourself no matter who you’re hanging out with?

Ryan was walking around the neighborhood by his apartment and he saw a guy and girl walking together. The guy was holding, not only his girl’s overnight bag, but her purse as well. Ryan immediately thought, “wow, this guy is whipped.” For one he’s holding his woman’s purse and two, it’s not like she had any other bags that she couldn’t hold her purse while he carried her overnight bag.

Nicole asks Ryan why he automatically thought the guy was whipped just because he was holding his girlfriend’s purse? It’s not that big of a deal. It’s not like people actually think it’s your purse. Everyone knows your holding it for someone. Rich agrees with Nicole. Guys shouldn’t bug out about holding it because it’s not like anyone actually thinks it’s theirs. But for some reason, guys get completely weirded out.

Ryan and Stan say it’s because holding a purse is emasculating. It kills a part of your manhood every time you do it.

Guys, why won’t you hold a woman’s purse? Ladies, does you man refuse to hold yours or is he one of the few that does?

The other day The Morning Mash Up was talking about brushing your teeth in the shower and Ryan said he could never do that because there was no mirror in the shower and he needs a mirror when he brushes his teeth. It was kind of a weird thought and it made Rich, Stan, and Nicole think about what they use a mirror for.

Nicole doesn’t really need a mirror for anything except maybe doing her make-up. Stan is like Ryan and needs a mirror for brushing his teeth and flossing. Rich needs one to put deodorant on so that he can see himself cover the entire area and see if any clumps of deodorant show up.

What do you use a mirror for?

Ryan and Rich went to a wedding the other weekend and when Ryan got into the shower, he saw a toothbrush in there. Their friend had left a toothbrush in the shower. Both Rich and Ryan were kind of weirded out. To them it’s kind of gross to keep your toothbrush in the shower and/or brush your teeth in there.

 Nicole completely disagrees. She loves to brush her teeth in the shower. What’s the difference between it being in the shower or in a holder on your sink? Stan, on the other hand, is with the guys. He likes to brush his teeth in the sink.

Rich takes it a step further. He doesn’t even like to wash his face in the shower, he does it in the sink. Do you think it’s weird for someone to brush their teeth or have a toothbrush in the shower?

The Morning Mash Up was talking about past jobs when Ryan shared an interesting story. There was a job he really wanted and to make sure his resume stand out above everyone else’s, he decided to make it look like a ransome note. Then, he had a friend tie him up and take a picture. He sent the resume & picture in with a… note that said, “hire him or else.”

Unfotunatelty, he didn’t get hired (the position was already filled) but they did call him to tell him how awesome they thought his resume was. Have you ever done anything creative or clever to get hired?

One of Ryan’s best friends has started to develop a very specific title in his life, c-blocker. Why, you ask? A great example is this weekend when they were at a mutual friends wedding and were sharing a hotel room.

Ryan was running his game and somehow managed to convince another girl to do a room swap so that he share his room with her and his friend shared her room with her friend she came to the wedding with. Get all that?

By the end of the night Ryan’s friend had so obnoxiously pointed out the fun that could come of the room swap and what wouldn’t happen (wink, wink). It didn’t help that he was a little tipsy too.

Thanks that that display of d-baggery the girls decided not to do the room swap and Ryan was stuck sharing his hotel room with his c-blocking buddy, as originally planned. After some thought, we’ve realized that Ryan’s friend is constantly c-blocking him at every corner, but not on purpose.

What is Ryan supposed to do about his friend? How do we get him to stop blocking Ryan’s chances?

While at a friends wedding with Rich this weekend, Ryan made an interesting observation. In the bathroom at the reception hall, where there are usually colognes, mints and other hygiene products, there was something Ryan hadn’t seen in quite some time. The bathroom attendant had a pack of combs, in case anyone needed to fix their hair.

Ryan went back and told Rich, and they both agreed that they haven’t seen someone use a comb in ages. Who the heck uses a comb? Well, it seems like a few still do because when Ryan went back to the bathroom the entire pack of combs was gone!

At this point most dudes use some paste or gel to style their hair, and use their hands to get everything just the way they want it. Do you still use a comb? Do you know someone who does? Maybe they comb their beards with them?

After digging for some food in a central Florida neighborhood, a clear plastic container was removed from a 6-month-old cub’s head after being stuck for at least 10 days. Reports are the cub was days away from dying because it couldn’t eat or drink. After tranqulizing the mother and then the cub the container was removed from it’s head.

Every so often, Ryan finds himself tripping over his words, resulting in some seriously priceless Morning Mashup moments. Either Ryan gets a little nervous around Stan, Nicole and Rich, or he just straight up can’t talk right!

Ryan claims he just needs to work on talking slower so that he doesn’t stumble over his words so often. Whatever the reason, most of us have experienced that awkward moment when we just couldn’t quite get those words out, whether it was in front of that one boss at work who makes us nervous or even a crush.

Technology, Simultaneously Helping and Confusing People For Over A Decade.

Last weekend, Nicole & her boyfriend were driving to a friends & were using a GPS. GPS is supposed to make getting places easier and less stressful, but not this time. The navigation system led them everywhere but where they wanted to go and it took them 45 minutes longer than it should have to get there!

There are a lot of things that are supposed to be convenient and make your life easier, but they don’t. Nicole once got one of those pannini presses that had waffle inserts thinking it’d be so much easier to make hot sandwiches and  waffles. However, when he’d make sandwiches the bread would stick to the roof and when he’d try to make waffles the inserts wouldn’t stay in place! Plus,  the batter would go all over the place!
