Should Nicole’s Boyfriend Travel To See Her Family During The Superbowl?!?
Nicole’s father decided to pay for tickets so that she and her sister could fly to visit the family. Her father also offered to pay for a ticket for Nicole’s boyfriend to travel. Nicole asked her man if he wanted to go, knowing that they would be flying back during the Super Bowl.
Immediately, Rich and Stan gave her a look saying “do you know what you’re asking?” Almost 100 million people watch the Super Bowl every year. That’s 1/3 of the American population.
Is Nicole that clueless to ask her man to possibly miss some of, or all of, the Super Bowl? Are Rich and Stan wrong? Should her boyfriend go and spend quality time with the family in the sun and the sand and sacrifice watching the Colts and Saints go at it for the championship?

Listening this morning answering the question is easy. You DVR the superbowl and go visit the family. Your not unamerican for not watching the whole superbowl (you can finish it when you get home if need be) and your not in any crap for not going to see her family. You have to go see the family since they won’t always …be there. (god forbid something should happen to them in the near future and you missed the opportunity).
No offense meant, Nicole, but if your boyfriend is passing up a free vacation in Florida for a football game – even the “sacred” Superbowl – he’s kinda dense. Let’s see – a free trip to a sunny vacation spot, or a bunch of hairy, overpaid male divas chasing a ball around a giant yard? I’ll take the trip.
F the DVR! If it comes down to the superbowl or the relationship, I’d pick the Superbowl! The Superbowl is only one of the greatest games ever played in the history of all sporting events! DVR?! You have to be kidding! Nicole’s boyfriend will be the guy the next day who’s whipped for getting on the plane like a sucker! Seriously, you can’t ask a man to not watch that game. Pro Bowl fine, Superbowl, communism.
Nicole I’m sorry but I’m going to have to side with the boys on this one. I would still tell your man about the trip, but if he doesn’t want to go because of the game you can’t get mad at him. This Super Bowl is history in the making and if your man missed it you know he wouldn’t be in the best mood on the trip anyways. DVRing the Super Bowl is not OK by any means! This is the biggest game of the year and its needed to be watch live. Good luck girl!

Hell NO! It’s not like he’s paying for a ticket to Hawaii…it’s just FLA for the weekend, and if he hasn’t put a ring on her finger yet I guess it’s stay home with the boys to watch the game like it’e meant to be!

Seeming how important sports and the superbowl are to some guys it should show you his dedication to you and will show if he is at all interested in your family. I’m one of the rare guys that aren’t into sports or interested in the superbowl so I would go. You can watch the game anywhere.

Not just no, but hell no! Who in their right mind would miss a Super Bowl? I have watched ‘em all, even the lame one’s, cuz that’s what Americans do on Super Bowl Sunday. What we don’t do is pansy up and go visit our S.O.’s parents. Re-schedule the trip for the week after. DVR would suck so bad when you already know who won! Go Colts!
I say change your flight time. Leave late enough that neither of you will miss the Superbowl. Iknow Nicole isn’t the biggest fan of sports – but girl – Superbowl is a must see this year. It is the first time since ‘93 the two best teams in the NFL are playing!
I could careless about football and from what I gather neither could Nicole so I would say let the guys stay for the game. But Nicole’s dad made the flight plans and maybe did them intentionally at this time as a test to the guys. If Nicole’s dad watches football he would have known it was the superbowl when he scheduled the flights.

if he cant miss something like the super bowl for a free ticket then hes a bit dense and plus you can record it but also how many times is it going to be replayed all over the world he should look on the tv and find a rerun of it and ask your dad to watch it bonding time+superbowl+trip= i really dont think theres anything to chose from
I personaly don’t care for the NFL so I’d be going with Nicole to Florida and see her family. I think he should go and suggest staying an extra day so he can watch the game in full and live.
I don’t know how into football he is, but if the game is important to him, use the DVR that way he can still watch the game and go on the vacation.

seriously??? yea, the superbowl is an awesome game & it’s exciting with the saints in it for the first time, BUT are some of you people actually saying that one football game that is over in 3 hours is actually more important than going to visit the girlfriend’s family???? Im all for football and the superbowl, but its not even his team. Its not like it’s a death defying stituation it wont kill him to go with nicole. That is why they invented t.v. on your laptop

Honey, I’m sorry but it is the BIGGEST game of the year. I’d kick my future hubby to the curb if he asked me to miss it, which he wouldn’t because he loves football. There will always be another weekend to go to FL, but you have to wait a whole year for the SuperBowl to come around. Sports nuts NEVER miss the big game!

It sounds like Nicoles boyfriend is a sports nut. She was aware of this when she met him. If she really loves him I think she would feel guilty making him miss something that he probably watches every year. Plus she should just ask him how he feels about it.
Come on. It’s the SuperBowl! One game of the season that can’t be missed if you are a football fan. DVR is not an option because it’s not the same as being in the moment. Change flight times or something but don’t ask a guy to miss the Superbowl.

Well I must say, I was forced to travel for work during the superbowl and the pilot was nice enough to give us regular updates on the score!
