Do You Dress Up For The Gym?

Rich went to the gym last night to do another ab core class with his woman, and realized that he dresses like a bum at the gym. The only reason he noticed is because there are way too many people that are dressed up for the gym. People spend money on the Under Armor sneakers and clothes, plus girls even do their make up, for the gym.

When Nicole went to the gym last night the woman who was on the elliptical next to her was completely decked out with a matching, and cute, gym outfit. She also had full make-up, and her hair in a ponytail but not the usual messy ponytail – one that was styled and pull back so nice she could have been wearing a dress, not a gym outfit.

Who goes to the gym all dressed up? You’re going to get all sweaty and gross. Stan is like Rich, and wears pretty raggedy outfits to go to the gym but they can see why people would dress up. Ryan wears the same outfit every day because he just goes swimming in the pool for exercise.

Although, for some people the gym is also a social outing and an opportunity to meet new people and maybe even get someones number. What about you? Do you get all dressed up to go to the gym? What frame of mind are you when you are getting ready for the gym, and when you get there? Have you ever met someone at the gym because you dressed well, or because they dressed well?

I personally don’t get dressed up to go to the gym, but I know people who do, and they just look seriously redic. Who cares about your matching Under Armor everything, or the girls in the way too tight tops and pants, and then give you the evil eye when you glance over, come on, its the gym!

I don’t go to the gym for that reason alone!! I work out at home and look like a slob doing it. I then shower and do make up and clothes before going out for the day. If I did go to the gym I would need a whole new workout wardrobe so as not to break my contract with America. Let’s face it, we all have an obligation to look decent enough when out in public that people don’t lose their lunch. Ladies, chances are if it’s hurting you….its probably hurting someone else too!!!

I don’t believe in dressing up, but I do believe it helps to see your body more accurately when you’re not in oversized clothing. You are there to sweat, but those time when you’re checking your form (not just checking yourself out) in the mirror, I find it motivating to be able to see the muscles flexing and working. I personally wear yoga pants/or shorts and a sport tank because that ’s what I’m comfortable in- but doing hair and make up is out of the question. The times I’ve just thrown on whatever I find myself copping out of an extra set or just not pushing as hard because I’m dressed like I should be lounging.

A little light foundation at most. Just something to get rid of the dark circles under the eyes before the morning workout and coffee. Clothes wise, it is a pair of sweats or shorts with a tshirt. Going to the gym is not a social call for me.

the only reason i wear the nice stuff is becuase i get a discount on it, a lot of the time it works out to where it’s just a little more than what i would have paid for the cheap stuff and why not? it’s a couple extra bucks and it looks better and is sometimes a lot more comfy.

why would u dress up to go to the gym? all u do is get all hot and nasty. it makes no sense what so ever, because u will just have to take a shower. And if u put on mack up u will just have to wash it off. so no i do not dress up to go to the Gym.

So my best friend turned boyfriend used to dress nice at the gym. But he was looking for a partner and he was set on finding one that was into working out, or at lease going to the gym with him on a regular basis. He always looked to the ones who wore matching outfits that are flattering to the figure. I am not one of those and let me tell you, I have a new gym wardrobe. IF you are going to the gym to look good why not show it off there!

Generally I go to the gym at night so I just keep on whatever make up I have on. Clothing wise it changes but generally shorts and either a baggy shirt or a tank top. I don’t understand the women that go there all dolled up. they look soo out of place and half the time arent even working out that hard but focusing on themselves in the mirror. i go to the gym to get a good workout.

I don’t do the hair and makeup but I do like wearing cute workout clothes. It’s more of a confidence booster. When I wear a cute outfit I feel motivated to go to the gym.

Who cares, you go to the gym to work out. Its not a fashoin statement.

I also go after work and have makeup on then. But, I’ll tell you what… I used to go in whatever old tee and shorts I could find. But the more I work out… and I tend to go 5-6 days a week… the more I have realized that the better the clothes, the longer they will last. So I have started to buy the Nike and Under Armor and what-not. They are actually more comfortable than old sweatpants to work out in and hold up a lot better. Getting all dolled up to go to the gym I don’t quite get, but the clothes are something I can get behind.

I wear the same Virginia Tech sweat pants and a different shirt to the gym every time. I still get looks and get noticed, weather I’m bumming it or not. I wore makeup one time to the gym since I had just come from work and felt nasty and dirty with it on my face. I think its dumb to get all dressed up. Say you do meet someone and you do get a date and start going out. They are going to see what you look like without makeup sooner or later. Plus when you sweat you perspire so if you have makeup on you are more likely to cause a blackhead or blemish to form on your face.

HA HA!! NO! do not dress up for the gym! I think that’s so brutal. There’s a lady at my gym and she comes with bangles on and her little tight yoga gear and her hair in loose curls and full make up. Then the worst..she starts running on the treadmill…with the bangls. UGH. One time I forgot my Ipod…CLANG CLANG CLANG oh gosh!

I think that if it bothers people that much ….you may be a little jealous. Personally I go after work and I am not going to go home and mess up my hair wash off my make up and dress like a bum to make other people feel better about themselves….you should probably pay more attention to your own workout and not what other people look like….gesh you can’t win …look like a bum and get put down …look nice and get put down….let people just be!
