Do You Care More About Your Kids’ Success Than Yours?

Rich would like to wish Stanley T’s son good luck today because he’s trying out for the basketball team. Rich asked Stan if he gets more excited about his son playing than when he played basketball. Does he care more about his sons success in basketball than his. Stan says that of course you do. As a parent you want to see your kids do well. He even practices with his kids and has them run drills – not to push them but to prepare them. He says that parents want their kids to surpass what they did, you want to see them do better. Nicole says that you definitely get those parents that take it too far and get crazy about making their kids successful and push them too hard. Or on the other end, you have parents like Ryan’s who he says never came to one of his games. *Sniff* Rich knows he’ll definitely get excited about seeing his kids play little league. Do you get more excited and passionate about your kids doing something than when you did it? Do you care more about their success than your own?

I care more about my children’s success than my own. My daughter is 21 and will graduate college in May, and get married in June. My son is a freshman @ Texas State University in San Marcos. There success in society is a reflexion on me which is my success story.
