Do You Believe People When They Say They Didn’t Get Your Text/Call/Email?

Is It REALLY Possible To Miss Calls/Texts/Voicemails/E-Mails These Days?

Rich tried to call his friend yesterday and waited all day long for his friend to get back to him. Finally, Rich tried to call him again and when his friend answered, Rich asked him why he never called him back. His friend said he never got the call. Rich finds this hard to believe. In today’s world, it’s pretty impossible to not reach someone.

Caller ID on your home phone (if you even still have one) and every cell phone tells you when you missed a call. You can even check email from most cell phones. Ryan thinks that the only time it’s legitimate that someone didn’t see that you tried to contact them is when they are in a no service area. He experienced that a few days ago. But even in that situation, if you try and call them, you can tell they don’t have service because it only rings once or twice before going to voicemail.

Stan has his phone shut off automatically at a certain time at night, but one time his wife tried to call and the phone hadn’t turned back on properly when it was supposed to. Stan didn’t realize it until he got to the office, and of course got the same speech Rich gave his friend

Do you believe people when they say they didn’t get your call/text/email? Have you ever had someone get mad at you because they didn’t believe you when you said you didn’t know they had tried to reach you?

that can go the other way too. i’ve text & asked someone a direct question. when I didn’t get an answer I would finally get a hold of them they would say ‘i text u back, u didn’t get it?’ yeah right
not paying attention 2 ur texts isn’t the same as not getting them.

I believe. It’s happens to me. Some times my wife will send me a text or picture and it never arrives, same thing happens the other way (me sending to her). The other day my father called me, phone never rang, no missed call log. Only knew it because he left a voicemail.

I’ve had this happened a couple of times. Sometimes my friends are unable to receive some text messages from me or somehow I get a voicemail but I never heard the phone ring. It happens.

There has been times when our “oh so lovely” wireless towers will go “dead”……. I have honestly missed calls / txts.. or they would show up a day or two later… or 3 of the same txt will show up.. HOWEVER, there have been a few occassions, where I would forget someone called/txt and I didn’t have the heart to tell them I simply forgot to get back to them. :o )

I have this happen all the time, in fact some time back it was so bad here in my area that it would take up to half a day until I or my friends would recieve their txts, but then again I don’t exactly live in the USA, I live in a wonderful country in Central America named Belize. But the reason why these things happen is still the same and here they are, either 1 your phone went out of service or shut off at some point and did not reset itself, (fairly rare) 2 the tower went dead or just quit transmitting, (happens once in a while) or 3 the servers are overloaded, (MOST COMMON) this results in txt’s getting to the tower but since its overloaded it “forgets” about them, calls will appear to ring but will never connect with the other person.

Do all the people that called in work for cellular companies??? You would think so because according to them this never happens and people are lying if they say it happened to them. What a load of bullshit.

its possible to not get a text or a call depending on where you are, i’ve texted people or called and they never got it because it was in a bad service area or the oh so common in your pocket and it’s hit buttons, i know I’ve done it, and with the texting i’ve sat right beside someone who was with a different phone company and it took them almost a half hour to an hour to get my text, and that was sitting right beside them but when i texted someone with the same company that i was with they got the text the second i got the message sent screen

Get over it, what happened to peoples attitudes when we got all this high technology. It is great to have these conveniences, but that does not mean we are not busy when we are n’t tied to our little gadgets. yeeeesh

I do believe when people say they didn’t get my message/ text. I live up by the Canadian Border and we have mountains and valleys that have areas with no cell service. We have a lot dropped calls and missed messages. When you go through certain valleys there is no cell service and you don’t get notified that you missed a call. So it is possible in some rural remote ares of the country.

I live in an absolute dead zone out in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes, when someone calls my cell, it won’t even tell me someone called. If they call a few times it may tell me. Wierdly, if they send me a text, it usually goes right through. My mom gets mad at me all the time for ‘not answering my phone’ when she calls. Usually, when she gives up, she sends me a text that says “call me”. If I miss calls when I am not home, my phone is on silent or (sadly) I am ignoring someones calls. Makes it easier when each person can have their own tone.

I wanted to comment on this yesterday but I didn’t have time once I got to work. anyone who says that this doesn’t happen has never lived in Wyoing, because here it is wide oopen spaces, lots of dead zones and problems with cell phones. they are’t dpendable here at all. I’m not saying that I have never used this excuse, because I have, but there are times when it has happened to me. And there are times when I get the message eventually, sometime a day or two later, after I have already talked to the person and told them that I didn’t get there message, which at the time I hadn’t. I had a friend call me from Denver and leave me a voicemail asking me to reserve him a hotel and I didn’t get the message until 7:45 the next morning! By then it was too late, he had already made it to where he was going and spent two hours looking for a room! And my old phone used to turn itself off everytime it tried to receive a txt message and then when I got it turned back on, the message was gone, so equipement malfunctions all the time. so I am completely with ya on this one Stan!
