Sports Pool Etiquette: Do You Have To Tip The Person Running The Pool?

Usually The Morning Mash Up is in a Super Bowl box pool, and last year Stan won the pool and a boatload of cash to go with it. This morning Stan brought up that they weren’t asked to participate this year. We think it was because when it came time for Stan to collect his winnings Stan didn’t tip the guy who was running the pool.

Stan had no idea he was supposed to tip the guy, he’s never heard of that rule before. Ryan’s never heard of it either, and he thinks if it does exist it’s pretty stupid. Stan is also quick to point out that when the guy running the pool paid up he was pretty sour about it, counting the money in a very angry manner. Another reason Stan didn’t think to tip him.

What do you do when it comes to sports pool etiquette? Do you have to tip the person running the pool?

Should Nicole’s Boyfriend Travel To See Her Family During The Superbowl?!?

Nicole’s father decided to pay for tickets so that she and her sister could fly to visit the family. Her father also offered to pay for a ticket for Nicole’s boyfriend to travel. Nicole asked her man if he wanted to go, knowing that they would be flying back during the Super Bowl.

Immediately, Rich and Stan gave her a look saying “do you know what you’re asking?” Almost 100 million people watch the Super Bowl every year. That’s 1/3 of the American population.

Is Nicole that clueless to ask her man to possibly miss some of, or all of, the Super Bowl? Are Rich and Stan wrong? Should her boyfriend go and spend quality time with the family in the sun and the sand and sacrifice watching the Colts and Saints go at it for the championship?

Don’t forget that SiriusXM has Super Bowl coverage 24/7. Click HERE for all the details!

Tiger’s Wife Taking Half, Is It Fair?

Tiger Doesn't Look Too Happy

Elin: Yes, I’m Taking Half. Tiger: Half What?

Rich and Stan got into it with Nicole and Ryan over what the settlement with Tiger Woods and his wife would be if they got divorced. Nicole clearly thinks Tigers wife, Elin, deserves to get half of his money. While Nicole basis it as retribution for what Tiger did, Ryan believes that is what you get yourself into when you get married. Whether you cheat once, twice, or 19 times, you pretty much end up giving your wife or husband half your money.

While Rich and Stan agree that Elin should gain things in the divorce settlement they do not agree that she should get half of Tiger’s money. In this case it’s something ridiculous, like $300 million dollars. Tiger has earned a lot of that before he was married, and more importantly through his own hard work. Rich and Stan think she should definitely get millions, but not hundreds of millions.

As Rich would say, two wrongs (taking money out of spite) do not make a right. While it is an excess amount of money regardless, it isĀ  ridiculous that she get an excess amount that will more than facilitate the rest of her life.

Which side do you take, Rich and Stan or Nicole and Ryan?

If You Were Tiger’s Wife, What Would You Do?

Tiger Doesn't Look Too HappyPsst…I’ll Be Taking All Your Money Now. Thanks!

So Tiger’s reported side piece count is now up to 10 women. At this point, if you’re Tiger’s wife what the hell do you do? Now, a woman from Tiger’s home was rushed to the hospital this morning. This is getting ridiculous! If you’re Mrs. Tiger Woods do you really save face by leaving after the revelation of 10 women? Should she have left after 1? 2? 3? Does she stay and collect her soon-to-be portion of the “Tiger Woods fund?” What do you think she should do?

Tiger Woods Apologizes

tiger woods
“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.
Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.
I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.”

Woah! Slow Down Tiger…You Take Things Too Seriously!

Just A Heads Up, You're NOT A VAMPIRE!

Yesterday, Rich overheard people talking about the Yankee game and how they needed to do in the next game of the world series. The way these guys were talking, “they” wasn’t just the team, but the guys as well. They were talking about them as if they were a part of the team. There are so many of these kinds of people in sports – people who truly believe they are part of the team.

Nicole says there are tons of people like that with vampires now because of shows like True Blood and Vampire Diaries, and the Twilight movies and books. We all know someone who takes their hobby, passion, job, or interest waaaay to seriously. What does someone you know take so seriously that you want to say “Whoa! Slow down there tiger!”
