Who Is Accountable When Kids Are In Adults Settings?
While out at a bar watching some college basketball Ryan used some adult language and some parents took offense. They told him to please watch his language because their kids were around. Ryan’s response was why did they bring their kids to a bar, which is clearly an adult setting. Talk about an inappropriate place to take children.
Nicole doesn’t completely agree. When she was watching the Syracuse game with her boyfriend’s friend brought his twins to the bar in full on Syracuse gear. Why can’t you bring the kids along for something that should be fun.
When the kids get exposed to language or behavior their parents didn’t want them too, is it the parents’ fault because they brought them to an adult place that wasn’t appropriate for kids or is it your fault for not being able to control yourself?

What Are The Most Ridiculous Things You’ve Bought While You Were Drunk?
This past weekend, Ryan, Rich, Stan & his wife, and a few other people from Sirius XM, went to Syracuse for their radio alumni weekend. Ryan got a wee bit drunk one night and decided that he was going to buy drinks for everyone at the bar. We mean EVERYONE. The next day he woke up and wasn’t sure if he had really charged a few hundred dollars or if had just dreamt it. Sorry Ryan – you actually did that.
Nicole has an even better story than that. She got so drunk one night that when she got home she proceeded to open up the Victoria’s Secret catalogue, get a customer service rep on the phone, and start asking the woman if she would good in this shirt, this pair of jeans, etc. Then she went ahead and ordered about $600 worth of stuff.
She woke up the next morning and had no clue she had ordered all those clothes. She didn’t remember until everything came to her door and she had to return everything. What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve charged or bought when you were drunk?

Should The Naked Snow Woman Be Covered Up?
Courtesy of Gonzalez family
Ryan is finding articles about all sorts of weird stories this week. The latest is that during the last snowstorm that hit the northeast, a family in NJ made a snowman. But they didn’t make an ordinary snowman, they made one modeled after Greek sculptures. They made a headless, armless, and basically naked torso of a woman. It wasn’t overly detailed but you could tell it was a naked woman.
Well, neighbors complained and the snow lady had to be covered up in a bikini & sarong. Ryan thinks it’s ridiculous that the snow lady had to be covered. You see images like that all the time in art books & museums and kids learn about that kind of art in school. There wasn’t anything obscene about snow lady and no need to cover her up.
Stan thinks the neighbors were right for complaining. You’ve got kids running around that neighborhood. It is not appropriate to have a snowman or a naked lady just out in the middle of your yard. Which side do you fall on? Were the people who complained about snow lady right, or just being ridiculous?

Sack’em or Save’em: Should This Air Traffic Controller Be Fired?
Ryan found a story about an air traffic controller and his supervisor who are on suspended leave from their jobs because the air traffic controller let his kids talk to pilots on the air traffic control frequency. The FAA is considering whether the two should be fired or not, saying that they should have known better than to allow something like this to happen.
Other people are saying the situation is being blown out of proportion. All the kids did was tell two planes they were cleared for take off. The air traffic controller watched over everything and talked to the pilots for everything else. The pilots had no problem with, one pilot even complimented the kid for doing a good job. Also, air traffic control is a very supervised area, so it’s not like it was just the dad and his kids sitting there alone.
Did dad take things too far by taking his kids to work, and having them talk to pilots? Should he be sacked or saved?

Have You Ever Been Successfully Set Up?
Ryan’s friend is trying to set him up and Rich thinks it’s a horrible idea. Setting people up never works. If you set up two friends they’ll both hate you when it doesn’t work out. If a guy is setting up his buddy, the girl is more than likely mediocre because otherwise he would be dating her himself.
Stan agrees and thinks better not to get involved in other people’s love lives. Nicole says Rich and Stan are wrong. Setting people up can absolutely work because who better to set up two people than a mutual friend who knows them and their personalities. What do you think? Can setting people up work, or is it just a recipe for disaster?

How Long Does It Take For Someone To Steal Nicole’s Rain Boots?
When left alone in New York City’s Herald Square, how long do you think it would take for someone to take Nicole’s rain boots?

Do You Weigh Yourself At Specific Times?
We learned a fun fact about Ryan this morning. When he’s home, Ryan will weigh himself after every time he goes to the bathroom. Before AND after. Nicole will sometimes weigh herself after a big meal so that she how much she ate in weight and then yell at herself as punishment for being a fatty and eating too much. Apparently, this gets her really motivated to go to the gym.
Rich had never had a scale until he moved in with his now fiance’. He’s figured out that he pretty much fluctuates 5-10 pounds within the same range. Stan doesn’t really weigh himself, but if he does it’s under the usual circumstances. How do you weigh yourself? Do you have any strange or interesting routines or rituals for weighing yourself?

Is It Weird That Ryan Never Checks His Mail?
The Morning Mash Up was sitting around talking yesterday and Ryan mentioned that he just recently checked his mail for the first time in months because he knew he was getting cards for his birthday. When Stan asked Ryan why it had been so long since he checked his mail, Ryan told it’s because he never checks it. Stan couldn’ t believe it. How does he not check his mail?
What about bills or notices or letters containing important information? Ryan says he has his bills on auto-pay and he gets nothing in the mail but junk, so why check it. Rich is in the same boat as Ryan. Nicole leans on her boyfriend for checking the mail. Surprised?
While Ryan, Nicole and Rich rarely check their mail Stan says there is no way he could not check it. Between notices on his finances, bills, information from his kids’ school, and other stuff, he has to look at his mail. He thinks the others are making a bad decision not to check what they get. Do you check your mail regularly, or at all, anymore?

Did Ryan’s Wing-Girl Go Too Far?
Ryan went out last weekend to a bar with his old friend from Nebraska. While they were sitting there a cute girl walks up next to them to order a couple drinks. Ryan’s friend gets her attention and says to her “Hey, this is my friend Ryan. We go back a long time.” The girl looks a little confused and then said “are you telling me this so I know it’s OK to hit on him?” Ryan’s friend responded, “Yeah, exactly. He’s single. You should hit on him.”
Thankfully, the girl didn’t get too weirded out by it and laughed it off. She and Ryan ended up talking most of the night. But that could have ended up a lot differently, and much more awkwardly. Ryan was a little taken a back by his friend approach, and wasn’t sure if he liked being put out there like that. The girl could have taken that to mean Ryan was desperate and been completely turned off.
What would you do if you’re friend, aka wing man or girl, blatantly told someone you were single and to hit on you? Totally acceptable or undeniably awkward?

Do You Take Your Shoes Off Before Going In The House?
Our intern Eric went to Ryan’s house to drop something off and got disgusted (and surprised) by the fact that he wasn’t asked to take his shoes off at the door. He thought everyone did that! We should also say that he is Asian, so it is a part of his culture.
Rich doesn’t know why anyone would want to be in a pair of stuffy shoes or sneakers when you can relax and get those toes some air. Nicole is bi. Sometimes she takes her shoes off at the doors, but there are times where she is so involved in what she is doing she just leaves them on.
Stan has a pretty new house that he and his wife had built from scratch, so you best take your shoes off in his house.
Do you make people take their shoes off at your door? Is it strange to not want to take your shoes off at the door?
