Do You Go On Toothpaste Adventures?
The difficult choices in life…
Rich Davis decided to do something that most people probably don’t do, and that’s be adventurous with the kind of toothpaste he uses. There are so many choices, most of which we really can’t tell the difference between. Rich decided to try several different kinds, and with bad results. So he wants to know, what kind of toothpaste do you use and why? Do you ever try different ones? Do you go on what Rich calls “toothpaste adventures?” Is it something that just isn’t done?

Couples Auditioning Other Couples
There are a lot of things that change when you become a couple. One of those things is how you go out and spend time with friends. Sure, you still see your respective friends but, as a couple, it’s nice to have other couples to hang out with. You hope that your friends’ significant others and your significant other will get along. But how do you know you and your significant other will get along well with another couple? Rich is now in the same process, and Nicole and her boyfriend so far are passing with flying colors.
Everyone does this whether they realize it or not. When you go out with another couple you’re secretly going down a list in your head – do you all share the same interests, have a lot of the same views, is it fun hanging out with them, etc. You’re checking to see if, as couples, you click.
There’s even a How I Met Your Mother episode on this. Marshall and Lilly have been desperate to find another couple to hang with and think their prayers have been answered when Robin & Barney get together. How do you “audition” other couples to see who you & your significant other can hang out with? What has your experience been like?

Can A Cruise Get Rid of Rich Davis’ Winter Blues?
Rich has been feeling kind of down lately. He’s sick of the cold, the snow, the dreariness, and the northeast weather in general. He’s got a case of the winter blues. A lot of people get gloomy in the winter. Rich has been having thoughts of moving to the west coast because he just can’t stand the crappy weather.
He then decided that he needs to go on a vacation to cheer up and get rid of his winter blues. He’s been asking people where he should go and a lot of people that have been suggesting taking a cruise, which he has never done. However, a lot of people have told to avoid cruises at all costs. It seems that people either love them or hate them.
On the plus side, cruises allow you to see a couple different destinations in one trip, many meals & drinks are included, and there’s a lot to do on board. On the other hand, you usually only get a few hours in each destination before you have to re-board. Plus, germs and sickness spread like wildfire because you’re in close quarters, and alcoholic drinks cost a fortune and aren’t included in the “all-inclusive” part.
Do you think Rich should go on a cruise to get rid of his winter blues, or is it a bad idea? Help Rich with your comments below!

March Stacheness Is Upon Us
Every March on Rich Davis afternoon talk show, Covino & Rich, they have a tradition, March Stacheness. A play off of college basketball’s March Madness, he encourages everyone to not shave for the entire month of March and then shave on the last day, only leaving behind a glorious mustache. As you can see from the photo above, if you grow a mustache you might look a little creepy. OK, maybe a lot creepy.

Do You Judge People On Their Cell Phones?
Rich Davis brought up an interesting point today. He was talking to someone who wanted to possibly do some business with him, and when he pulled out his cell phone to get Rich’s number it was some old flip phone from a few years ago. Instantaneously, Rich no longer took him seriously.
These days your cell phone almost defines the type of person you are. You would think that a business person would almost always carry around a Blackberry, or a technically comparable phone. You could put the iPhone and the new Android phones in the same category, but they also have a bit more cool factor.
Rich lumped people people who don’t have a cell phone that should be commonplace today (iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm Pre, ect) into two categories. They either can’t afford it, which he is not ragging on clearly, or they just aren’t tech savvy and out of the loop. We don’t necessarily think judging someone on their phone is right, but we are pointing out that it is something that happens more so now.
How do you judge people when you see their cell phones? How do you react differently when you see someone pull out an old school flip phone, versus a new smart phone?

Was Rich Rude To Let His Fiance’s Dad Stay In Stanley’s Room, With Little Notice?
If you’re new to The Morning Mash Up you might not know that Rich and Stanley T are roommates during the week. Stanley T’s house (and family) is actually in Pennsylvania, but in order to make the show happen he needs to stay in New York City. So he rents out the spare room in Rich’s apartment four days out of the week.
For Valentine’s Day weekend Rich had his fiance’s dad come to town and spend a nice weekend together. This sounds fine right? The problem is Rich had his future father-in-law stay in Stan’s room…without telling him! Now, Stan knew that Rich’s fiance’s dad was in town, but didn’t tell him until the day of. Stan said he would’ve been fine with it, if told with ample time.
Rich claims that he is doing Stan a favor. He let’s Stan stay in the apartment for cheap, and Stan doesn’t have to pay any of the bills. The room has been decorated by Stan, and he does leave things there, so it’s not like he’s staying in a hotel room. However, Rich did set up the room for his fiance’s dad, and cleaned it back up for Stan’s return on Monday. Does Rich have a point, or does Stan have the right to be upset with Rich’s lack of notice?
CORRECTION: We had posted that Stan had to stay on the couch, which was NOT true. Rich’s fiance’s dad stayed in Stan’s room for the weekend, when Stan wasn’t even in the apartment. He was home with his family. So did Rich have the right to let his fiance’s dad stay in Stan’s room, even though he pays rent, for the weekend?

Was Rich Being A Jerk When He Said Nicole Would Do Playboy For $25,000?
Jessica Simpson recently said she WOULD NEVER take her clothes off for any amount of money, or even for a movie roll (regardless of context). Rich then decided to poke some fun at Nicole because, just like a lot of us, she’s dealing with credit card debt and student loan payments. He took things a step further by saying she could probably get $25,000 to pose in Playboy.
She was insulted, and infuriated, because she would never take it off for just $25,000. It would have to be WAY more than that. She said she would consider it for no less than a million. Was Rich being a jerk? How much do you think Playboy should pay Nicole (hypothetical, of course)?

Is A White Car Considered Feminine?
Rich Davis’ car lease is up, and now that his fiance’ lives with him they have to decide what kind of car they both want to have. Normally he would get a safe black, or dark blue colored car. Rich’s fiance’ however normally gets a white car. She is from Texas and they avoid getting dark colored car because it tends to attract more heat from the sun.
The question now is whether having a white car is right for Rich. He was wondering if it was feminine. Stanley T says yes, but Nicole or Ryan don’t care either way really. Nicole made the point that a white car is harder to keep clean when living in an area where the seasons change on the regular. Can you imagine a white car with the slushy, dirty snow the North East gets?
Plus, Rich isn’t a baller, like Diddy, who can roll with a pearl white car. What is a Rich Davis to do? Is a white car too feminine for a dude? What would you do?

Know Someone Who Over Panics?
Yesterday was a bad snow day for a lot of the East Coast. However, doing a national radio show, you don’t get a snow day. Stanley T, wanting to make sure he got to the show on time, left an hour earlier than usual. Because of this, Rich thinks Stan is an over-panicker. When they got up for the show Thursday, there was barely any snow on the ground and no train delays. There was no need to leave that early.
Stan says he left early as a precaution and because he didn’t want to deal with the drama of possibly being late. However, Stan also left early yesterday afternoon, after the show. Since Rich and Stan are part-time roommates, Stan usually waits for Rich to get out of his afternoon show and goes home with him. Not yesterday. Rich thinks Stan is ridiculous with the way he panics. Things are never as bad as he thinks they’re going to be.
Rich’s dad is like this too. For Thanksgiving he had Rich and himself leave at 9am to get somewhere by 3pm, the catch is that the destination was only a half hour away. They got there and Rich’s step sister-in-law and her husband were barely out of their pajamas and they all ended up having breakfast together. Talk about awkward.
What about people who need to get to the airport 3 hours early? That is a bit of over-panicking. Unless you like hanging out in the airport there’s no need to get there that early. It will not take you that long to check your bags and go through security. Do you know someone that over panics – whether it’s about traffic, airports, the weather?
